standard or equivalent examination held preceding the entrance test with
Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects, along with one of the following
subjects - Chemistry, Bio-technology, Computer Science, Biology or Electronics.
The Candidate should have secured not less than 45% of aggregate marks in
optional subjects with English as one of the languages for admittance to

BMS Institute of Technology was started in
the year 2002 – 2003 with three Engineering Departments viz., Computer Science
& Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical
Engineering. In due course of operation four more programmes viz., TCE, EEE,
ISE, Civil. Currently there are three PG programmes namely, M Tech in Computer
Science & Engineering, Machine Design and Master of Computer Applications. There
are seven VTU recognized research centres in this institute Bangalore where 40
research scholars are working in diverse research areas.

path and has a team of well qualified, experienced and dedicated faculty.
Thirty one faculty members are with doctoral degree and around forty are
pursuing. The Institute continues to recruit faculty members with high
experience in academia, industry and research. The Institute offers
contemporary and competitive teaching/learning methods. The Institute follows
learner centric methods in academics for effective learning by students. The Institute has well
equipped laboratories for course work, teaching and student projects. There are
around 800 computers connected in the network with all necessary licensed
software. The Institute is helping the students in getting exposure to cutting
edge technologies by means of organizing industrial visits and technical talks
from domain experts of reputed industry/research organizations. The students
